Happy International Israel Apartheid Week!

The Sixth International Israel Apartheid Week is halfway through its fourteen day run. You see, Israel's crimes are evidently so numerous and egregious that Israel Apartheid Week takes twice as long as an ordinary week.

To give some measure of just HOW terrible Israel's 'apartheid' really is, contrast the two-week run of Israel Apartheid Week with the global reaction to the Rwandan genocide.

Over the course of 100 days in 1994 and in full view of UN peacekeeping forces, Rwanda's ruling Hutu tribe slaughtered between 500,000 and 1,000,000 rival Tutsi tribesmen.

On the tenth anniversary of the slaughter, the UN's Kofi Annan called for 'a moment of silence'.

"Such a minute of silence has the potential to unite the world, however fleetingly, around the idea of global solidarity . . . here today, I would like to urge all people, everywhere, no matter what their station in life, whether in crowded cities or remote rural areas, to set aside whatever they might be doing at noon on that day, and pause to remember the victims. Let us be united in a way we were not 10 years ago. . . etc., etc., " (zzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Upon learning that the penalty for genocide was to endure a moment of silence, the Islamic Janjaweed militia started sharpening up their machetes.

The UN patiently waited until the Janjaweed had slaughtered a couple of hundred thousand Christians in the southern Sudan region of Darfur, then-new UN chief Ban ki Moon started talking about sending in UN 'peacekeeping' troops to put a stop to the genocide.

But nobody suspected how diabolical the Khartoum regime could be. John Ukec Lueth Ukec, the Sudanese ambassador to Washington, held a press conference to warn of the consequences should the UN or US interfere in the Sudan's internal affairs.

"I want you to know that the gum arabic which runs all the soft drinks all over the world, including the United States, mainly 80 percent is imported from my country," the ambassador said, ominously raising a bottle of Coca-Cola.

A reporter asked if Sudan was threatening to "stop the export of gum arabic and bring down the Western world."

"I can stop that gum arabic and all of us will have lost this," Ukek warned, gesturing melodramatically with his bottle of Coke. "But I don't want to go that way."

The threat was too much for the United Nations and evidently too much for the United States.

Both institutions began to back-pedal in the face of the Sudan's heartless threat -- the terrifying prospect of a world with no Coke was too much to bear.

So, while the Rwandan Genocide at least rates a moment of silence, the ongoing slaughter of Christians and blacks in the Darfur region for the past seven years doesn't even rate honorable mention.

Israel Apartheid week lasts for fourteen days! It was started six years ago by brainwashed far left  students at the University of Toronto.  The idea quickly went viral and is now 'celebrated' in more than twenty Western countries.

Israel Apartheid Week is the natural result of a culture in which political correctness has dulled the ability of liberal educators and unsuspecting students to tell the difference between racism and self-defense.

They are defending the RACISTS against the VICTIMS.

Assessment:

"Apartheid" was the name of the official policy of racial discrimination that existed in South Africa until rising global opposition forced the system out of power in 1994.

Apartheid was introduced as official policy following the general election of (note the year) 1948. New legislation classified people by race; "white", "black", "colored" and "Indian", and segregation was implemented by forced removal and relocation.

In 1958, blacks were legally deprived of South African citizenship,  becoming citizens of the ten tribally-based self-governing homelands called bantustans.

Looked at strictly from the perspective of the Palestinians, one can torture out a few parallels between apartheid and Israel's security wall, but it requires holding the kind of "tolerant" worldview generally found only on college campuses and among progressive liberals.

You know, the kind of worldview in which those who are 'tolerant and open-minded' shout down opposing views, disrupt groups with whom they do not agree, and demand that educators they deem to be 'intolerant' be fired, etc.

And if you are already predisposed to hate Israel for being intolerant because it is a Jewish State, then I suppose that the "apartheid" label might resonate somewhat.

South African apartheid kept certain groups separated according to race and ethnicity.  So does Israel's Security Wall.  But for different reasons.

Israel's security wall is there to prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering Israeli markets and bus stations and schools and murdering its citizens.

South African apartheid was a policy aimed at excluding anyone based on race.  Israel's security wall is aimed at excluding certain groups based on their proven propensity for terrorist attacks against civilians.

There is no logical comparison. The security wall isn't there to keep out Arabs. It's to keep out Palestinians, who, it is to be remembered, are not Israeli citizens. The Israeli-Arabs are Israeli citizens. Israeli-Arabs enjoy the same rights and privileges of citizenship as do Israeli Jews.

Muslims are afforded the same religious rights as are Jews or Christians. There is no apartheid based on race or religion inside Israel. Indeed, most polls show that Israeli-Arabs overwhelmingly prefer living under Israeli rule. Those Arabs living in Jerusalem particularly oppose being transferred to Palestinian rule.

It is the Palestinians that are demanding the ethnic cleansing of Jews from the territories they claim as theirs. The Jews aren't exiling Palestinians to the West Bank or Gaza -- it is the other way around.

Every Jew in Gaza was forcibly relocated out of Gaza at Palestinian insistence.  The Jewish settlements that exist in the West Bank are major stumbling-blocks to negotiations. Many have already been dismantled and their residents forcibly removed -- the textbook definition of 'ethnic cleansing.'

The Palestinian Authority, WITH THE FULL BACKING OF THE WEST, demands a Palestine ethnically cleansed of any Jewish presence as a precondition of 'peace'.

This is a good place to recall that, in 1999, NATO declared war on Serbia because Slobodon Milosevic and his nationalists demanded a Serbian homeland ethnically-cleansed of Muslims.

But Jews are ethnically cleansed from their own ancestral homelands and not only is there no outcry, there is now an international movement whose sole purpose is to uphold such cleansing.

The effort to preserve and protect itself from attack by enemies sworn to its destruction as a Jewish State should be a Western strategic priority.  Israel is the only Western-style democracy in the Middle East, surrounded by a sea of anti-Western, anti-American Islamic dictatorships.

Israel is the only Western country in the world that actually UNDERSTANDS Islam and its influence on Middle Eastern thought.  Yet its position on the world stage is either that of enemy state or international pariah.

Israel has no friends.  The only real friend Israel ever had is the world's OTHER international pariah, the United States of America, but that friendship is rapidly becoming one of convenience rather than conviction.

There is no logical reason for something as absurd as an "International Israel Apartheid Week" -- apartheid does not exist in Israel.  It exists among the Palestinians

The aggressors aren't the Israelis -- they are the defenders.  Israel doesn't act, it reacts. Noted an editorial in the Jerusalem Post:

"While rogue states such as Sudan commit horrendous crimes against humanity, and Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and other self-proclaimed Muslim states do not even attempt to hide their contempt for non-Muslims, only Israel is singled out for castigation. This is the Israel that translates hostile Palestinian authors into Hebrew; that maintains a Supreme Court that defends the human rights of Palestinians, including its recent ruling to open Route 443 to Palestinians despite real fears that this could lead to drive-by shootings; that keeps its universities open to Arab citizens and grants them the right to vote."

Yet the Israel Apartheid Week enjoys great popularity among mainstream Protestant denominations, many of which have either sponsored events or are participating in the organized 'divestiture' efforts to weaken the state of Israel by withdrawing any investments that might benefit the Jewish State.

None of this makes any sense whatever in the natural, but it makes PERFECT sense when viewed through the prism of Bible prophecy.

Bible prophecy predicts hard times are coming for the People of the Book -- both Jews and Christians. The only nation as universally hated as the Jewish State is the USA, designated by Osama bin Laden as the 'Crusader Christian supporters of Zionism'.

Together, these two nations stand as visible reminders of the God of the Bible. Israel's restoration was prophesied by God millenia in advance; and America, whose authority to govern, according to the Declaration of Independence, was granted by the Creator God.

There are few who would argue that Israel is not a defacto Jewish state, but there are many who dispute America's identification as the world's most Christian nation. According to the CIA World Factbook stats, there are a higher percentage of Christians in America than there are Jews in Israel.

The absurdity of setting aside a week of protest against the victims of racism in favor of its perpetrators is but one example of the supernatural nature of the conflict involving Israel (and America.)

There are many others -- this one just happens to be the one in the headlines this week.

Israel, by its very existence, is a standing offense to the world system.  It is a constant reminder of the existence and reality of God, and therefore, man's accountability before Him.

The secular world's war against the Jews is unreasoning, blind anti-semitism so ingrained in its psyche that it is blissfully unaware that it even exists.

The world seeming has no problem with embracing Buddha or Mohammed or Allah. It will side with them over Christians or Jews every single time.

But the mere suggestion of the Biblical God or of Jesus Christ seems to impart some kind of global mass insanity.

The existence of Israel is a thorn in the enemy's side. He has spent two thousand years trying to wipe them out and prevent their ingathering -- for he knew that, once restored, the timeclock on his hegemony would start counting down.

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save My people from the east country, and from the west country; And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness. [Zechariah 8:7-8]

"And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. [Zecharaiah 8:13]

The existence of the state of Israel is more than a suggestion -- it is a living testimony to the Living God Who said:

"And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be My people." (Leviticus 26:12)

Israel claims title deed to Jerusalem and the Promised Land by direct commandment of God, and has the documentation to prove it! But global acceptance of Israel by Divine right requires global acceptance of the Divinity granting it and that's not going to happen.

Still, Israel has an unassailable legal deed, recorded by David more than 3,000 years ago. The deed can't be broken, so it is ignored.

It gnaws at the global consciousness to have such a visible reminder of God in its face. The association between Israel, the last days and God's judgement combine to help keep Israel a pariah among the nations.

"And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." [Isaiah 11:12]

Israel is a peculiar nation, set aside for two millennia and then 'assembled from the outcasts' as an 'ensign' to the nations  -  to remind them God is still on the Throne.

It is also a reminder to the Church that the same Divine inspiration that has so accurately predicted the events now transpiring will continue to follow the same outline.

Until the times of the Gentiles have been fulfilled.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

Maranatha!
